Dear Friends,

Thank you for your generous gifts. Your continued generosity and faithfulness enables us to pursue the cause of Christ and reach a desperate and dying world. By giving into this ministry you become a partner or part of every soul won, every wounded heart healed, and every broken body set free, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you.

In Philippians, we see the often quoted scripture,"And my God will liberally supply your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Obviously, this is not a scripture to be taken out of context. Sentences don’t even begin with "and". "And" is a conjunction or connecting word and you have to look at why it came before to know what is being said. The context is, that Paul is thanking some people for donating into his ministry just like I am doing with you. In the paragraph that precedes this one Paul calls their giving "...a fragrant odor of an offering and sacrifice which God welcomes and in which He delights."

So clearly the context of the scripture is money. God supplies all your needs goes beyond your financial needs because all your needs means all your needs. This means every need in your life, social, health, emotional, and including finances. Why would God delight in someone giving? In another scripture God sees a man’s giving and it opens the door for God to intervene in the man’s family and save those that are lost. What father doesn’t delight in being able to involve himself in the lives of his children?

Your giving opens the door for God to involve Himself in your life ,in meeting your every need beyond money but including money. Praise Jesus, I need Him to be involved in my life. I welcome His aid in my health, my family, my money, my ministry. I wouldn’t think of trying to do what I do with out the help of God. So, with God, I delight myself with God in your giving and receive it as a sweet smelling offering and sacrifice. I know what the sacrifice part is, and so does God. I know how hard we work for what we have and I know the demands placed on our time and our finances but this sacrifice is a delight to God because it opens the door for Him to meet "...every need according His riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

I pray your and yours are in health and prospering and remain your servant in Christ,

Mike Deasy
