Dear Friends,

I pray this finds you in health and prospering in all God has called you to do and be. Kathie and I are well and in health. It is of course God's will that you be in health and prospering. Not only is that according to the Bible for He has commanded blessings upon you, but we are more useful to ourselves and to God when we are in health and prospering.

When I first entered into the ministry, God gave me a vision. And you know, the vision and the mission have not changed. I saw a lake of fire. There were many people in the lake in various positions and situations. Some were swimming away out of reach, others were swimming desperately toward the shore. Still others were in boats, deceived and thinking they were safe. I reached out to the one closest to the shore and pulled him out. A woman with a child was frantically kicking with her feet, holding her baby in her arms. I reached out and pulled her ashore.

Others refused help, saying that they were fine as the flames leaped around and consumed them. My ministry is to reach as many as possible in the time alotted me and pull them from the flames.

Then the Lord gave me this scripture and I know it is for you too. "Praise be to God and the father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." That is found in II Corinthians 1:1. God has given me great comfort and my job is to pass that comfort on to you and all others who God brings me to.

To those who are in the fire, what greater comfort can there be than to be pulled out. To those who are in trouble, comfort is found in trusting God and knowing that in the midst of trouble we can be of good cheer and He will rescue us.

I was at Power Middle School in the Detroit area preparing to do an assembly program for the young people there and the principal came up to talk to me. They always get a little nervous and want to know what's going to happen. In Colorado in one of the largest High Schools, the principal asked me what I was going to talk about. I said, "Sex, drugs, rock-and-roll and how I gave my life to Jesus." She said, "Be sure to share your faith." People are looking for answers and they want the comfort that we receive from God.

Always remember that God will not ask you to give something that he has not given to you first. If he says to give love, he will give it to you first. If he says to give comfort, he will give it to you first. Even money, time, joy, and peace. Remember, you can't give something you do not have and God will supply all your needs according to his riches.

Well, this principal in Detroit had an unusual request. He asked me not to use my gun guitar. I have a guitar that is shaped like a gun and it is by far the most popular guitar that I own. I use it to blow the devil out of the water. I said, "Sure, no problem." I am there to serve and to comfort, not to create problems. He explained that there were two shootings in their student body. Young people taking their own lives, the devil stealing their precious lives before they really had a chance to live.

I could feel the spirit of depression as the young people came into the gym. You could see the despondency in their carriage, their heads and shoulders drooping slightly. The idle endless chatter of teens so obiviously missing as they passed before me, taking their seats on the bleacher seats. I began playing my guitar. I just let the Holy Spirit play through me, the notes of the electric guitar soaring and echoing off the walls of the gym. I knew how David must have felt when he played. The notes slammed against the concrete and cracked against the demonic screams (as I watched in the Spirit) the faces change in the natural as the music penetrated the minds of the young people. The power of the Holy Spirit moved through the gym. The anointing of God prevailed and they were comforted, the atmosphere changed and when I told them how I gave my life to Jesus and He gave me back my dreams, they cheered. They were comforted by the same comfort God has given me. The Holy Spirit of God--our comforter.

During this time of Thanksgiving, I thank God for you--for your prayers and support. Many times when I go to the schools, there are no churches interested in supporting what we do. They can't see the mission field in their own back yard. So your financial support, and most importantly, your prayers are what enable me to reach the unreachable, to bring the comfort of the Holy Spirit to the hurting, and to pull these lost souls from the lake of fire.

I have been going into the schools with the gospel since the mid-seventies. God renews my strength but some of my equipment had been in the ministry that long also and now must be replaced. I had four speakers blow out during one of our assemblies. It is time to replace our sound system. Agree with me in prayer that we have the money to do just that. And if the Lord puts it on your heart to help with this, just be obedient. Thanks.

Here is our prayer:

Father, in Jesus name, I come humbly before you and I ask your forgiveness for my mistakes and for the times I have missed your perfect will for my life. I thank you for your ample provision for me and for the body of Christ. I pray for the victims of the hurricane that you would comfort them, that the Christians there would be protected and given supernatural strength and power from the Holy Spirit, that with the comfort you've given to them, they will comfort others. I pray for your provision in my life that you would give to me and I will receive comfort that I may comfort others, that Your joy, your peace, your strength, your Holy Spirit will now fill me to overflowing to all in my world. Amen.
